Google I/O Event is an annual developer conference held by Google. The event aims to connect developers from around the world to have thoughtful discussion, hands-on learning with Google experts and also to introduce the latest products of Google.
The event is free and accessible for everybody. It will last 3 days from 18-20 May. Some events require attendees to register to reserve the slots.
Who Can Join The Event?
Developers around the world who are interested in Google technology and want to update the insights from Google experts, and hands-on learning.
Anybody who are interested in Google products, Google technology.
Anybody who are interested in SEO because there are some events related to SEO. For example, What’s new in Search held by JohnMu and other Technical SEO events.

What Will Virtual Content Look Like?
All content in Google I/O event is virtual, but formats vary to best meet the needs of global attendees. You have to register to reserve the slots for some events, some are available on YouTube after the virtual events.
- The Google and Developer Keynotes focus on company and product news. Registration is not required to watch the Keynotes. After the events, Keynotes will be available on YouTube. Keynotes will be localized in some languages ( French, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish).
- Technical Sessions focus on product announcements and how to adopt new features. Sessions will be scheduled throughout the three-day event. After the virtual events, Sessions will be available on YouTube. attendees can reserve seats on a first-come, first-served basis for Workshops and Ask Me Anything Sessions in advance of the event on the I/O website. Technical Sessions will be localized in some languages ( French, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish)
- Workshops and Ask Me Anything Sessions (AMAs) are interactive and must be reserved to participate. Workshops are instructor-led with Q&A encouraged, while AMAs are an opportunity to ask Google product experts questions.
- Meetups are casual, open, facilitated forums. Meetups are also virtual and led by Googlers. Registration and reservation are required.
- Interactive Sandboxes are available in I/O Adventure, enabling developers to try Google’s new products and features through a hands-on experience.
- Codelabs and Learning Pathways are always-on, self-guided learning experiences that help you adopt Google technology.
